I had no idea of the specialization and maintenance of the Koi fish when I first accepted this idea as a painting motif in the Get Outside series. However the naturally occurring colors of the Showa Sanke Koi - reds, oranges, yellows, blacks, and whites - and the flowing shapes of the fish have combined to create an organic representation that is ready to swim off into your sculpted pond.
