The lands of the midnight sun have a diverse geography spanning three continents (North America, Europe, and Asia). The summer months yield almost 24 hours of daylight, rising at approximately 3:00 AM and setting about 11:30 PM. It never gets dark! In the Northwest Territories, Canada, blues, pinks and grays traverse the sky. Long days yield celebrations and festivals, hence our reason for travelling: the Festival of the Midnight Sun. Midnight Sun is an installation of the Fire Flame & Sun series. In contrast, Sunrise, Sunset offers the brighter reds, oranges, and golds that are observed in the midnight sky in Finland. |
